Founded by Niranjan Bhagat’s friends and family to commemorate him and to take forward his life’s work.
Objectives
To spread the message of Shri Niranjan Bhagat as expressed through his life and in his writings and talks, hitherto published or to be published.
To promote and popularize literature including World literature by publishing books, ebooks, Compact Discs and through other electronic media and creating Websites and Electronic Portals including Blogs, organizing programs, seminars, lectures, symposia, conferences, discussions, workshops, training camps, exhibitions, etc. and to work for education and spread of the literature for the benefit of public without any distinction of caste, creed and religion.
To collect, preserve and maintain a library and archives of literature in the form of books, journals, magazines, audio and visual cassettes, CDs, DVDs, various digital forms etc. and publish the same for the actual benefit of general public.
To record outstanding literary performances and to preserve, publish and popularize the same for public utility not involving any activity for profit.
To establish institutions for education and advancement of literature and cultural studies.
To give scholarships, fellowships, prizes, awards, rewards, certificates, remuneration, honorarium and other assistance to the persons and to deserving and needy students, teachers and researchers in the field of literature and cultural studies.
To encourage, invite, undertake, preserve and publish innovative research works in the field of literature for the benefit of general public interested in the field of literature and to create awareness among people at large about the need of literature for enrichment of life and to expand literary horizons of people at large
To create awareness and interest in literature more particularly poetry and literary criticism and to undertake activities with a view to promote, encourage and train persons of younger generation in the art of literature.
To create opportunities for popularizing the need of literature in terms of richness of life and in expanding literary horizons of people at large and to spread the message of literature as a medium for advancement of culture.
To encourage, promote and popularize literature and more particularly poetry which finds expression through music and other performing arts.
To form constitute and organize forums for listening literary programmes for general public not involving any activity for profit.
To prepare, print and publish books, ebooks, Compact Discs and through other electronic media and creating Websites and Electronic Portals including Blogs, magazines, bulletins, souvenirs, newsletter, etc. pertaining to information about literature for those who are interested in these fields and public at large.
To spread the message of Shri Niranjan Bhagat and to publish the works, poems and writings of Shri Niranjan Bhagat in the form of books, e-books, Compact Discs and through other electronic media and creating Websites and Electronic Portals including Blogs, in audio and/or video or any other form including publishing the musical presentation of his poems composed to music by others and to undertake performances of musical presentation and recitation of his poems and dramatic presentation of his prose and other writings.
To coordinate the activities of the Trust with other agencies, Trusts, institutions, schools, colleges and universities, Municipal and Government Departments for the purpose of achieving the objects of the Trust.
To promote and popularize Gujarati literature in India and abroad by organizing exchange programs and to organize comparative studies and exchange of literature internationally and for the purpose send Indian talents abroad and invite literary persons from all over the world. To encourage language studies covering Gujarati, other Indian and world languages.
To encourage and support education related activities and study of culture, history and civilizations to augment the contextual understanding of literature.
To do any other charitable work for the benefit of the people of the Society particularly children orphans and to contribute subscribe or donate to any Government or local authority, Trust or institution for the upliftment of the society in general and particularly children such sums on such terms and conditions as would fulfill and further the objects of this Trust.
To extend generally the usefulness of literature and to do all things and take all actions which are necessary, expedient, incidental and conducive to the attainment of the above objects for general benefit of public.
To undertake activities for protection of national heritage both tangible and intangible, art and culture and works of art through education and research; setting up public libraries; promotion and development of traditional arts;
To promote teaching of English language and literature to students whose facility with English language in understanding, speaking and writing needs to be improved.
To frame, change or modify the rules and bye-laws for administration and affairs of the Trust and for effectively carrying out various activities of the Trust. Such rules or bye-laws shall be framed, changed or modified by resolution of the Board of Trustees passed from time to time.
